Cuyuna Range Subject Files, 1905-1962.

In addition to land sales, these files also provide a good deal of information on the development and operation of iron ore mines on the Cuyuna, the sourthernmost of Minnesota's three iron ranges. The exploration, development, and disposition of the Feigh Mine in Crow Wing County (File #441, et al) is especially well documented. As partial documentation of a land-holding subsidiary of NP, this series of subject files (bulk from the 1910s-20s) documents the NWI Company's acquisition, management, and eventual sale of land tracts on the Cuyuna Range in Crow Wing and Aitkin Counties in north-central Minnesota.
